The Saleh Bay Senior Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the overall implementation of the Saleh Bay Whale Shark-Based MPA program, including conservation and ecotourism initiatives. This position will serve as the main liaison with key stakeholders in West Nusa Tenggara, such as the Department of Marine and Fisheries and the Department of Tourism and ensure smooth communication and collaboration among partners.
The Senior coordinator will oversee technical, administrative, financial, and programmatic aspects of project implementation to ensure timely and high-quality delivery according to the workplan and budget. The role will also be responsible for managing field staff, ensuring effective teamwork, and building local capacity to support program objectives. The senior coordinator will report directly to the Conservation Planning Manager and work closely with the Focal Species Conservation Program to align activities with broader whale shark conservation strategies.
In addition, the senior coordinator will support the comprehensive management of Saleh Bay through a ridge to reef approach, ensuring that marine conservation efforts are integrated with watershed, coastal, and community-based management to secure long-term ecological resilience and sustainable benefits for local communities.
