Konservasi Indonesia was established in September 2021 as a national foundation, to continue the track record of Conservation International (CI) Indonesia which closed its program operations in Indonesia in April 2022. CI closed its program operations in Indonesia and then acted as a global partner for environmental conservation efforts carried out by Konservasi Indonesia. As CI's main partner, Konservasi Indonesia continues the track record that has been built by CI to maintain the sustainability of the benefits of ongoing programs, as well as producing broader impacts in the long term.
