Our Work Location

Konservasi Indonesia works in three geographical areas in Indonesia, namely Sundaland, Sunda Banda, and Sahul Papua by carrying out activities in a number of provinces and districts in each region. In addition to the provincial and district levels, we also carry out activities and a number of program initiatives at the national level, primarily in order to support the achievement of the Indonesian Government's targets with pilot locations (pilot site) in a number of provinces/districts.

Geographical Area

We work with parties in three geographic regions in Indonesia:

SUNDALAND

The Sunda Shelf region (Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan) has high biodiversity with tropical rainforest and lowland forest ecosystems that need to be preserved amidst rapid economic growth. We work in North Sumatra, West Java, East Java, and the Riau Islands to conserve important ecosystems such as forests, wetlands, and marine ecosystems that are important in maintaining climate stability.

SUNDA

The Sunda Banda region (Bali, Nusa Tenggara to Maluku) is rich in marine and fishery resources and has high potential for fishery production and ecotourism linked to sustainable conservation practices. We work in Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku to demonstrate sustainable development models that maintain a balance between development and environmental conservation.

PAPUA

The Sahul Papua region (Papua Shelf) is rich in natural resources and biodiversity both on land and in water. We work with partners in West Papua to support the Sustainable Development Province initiative by the Provincial Government in managing natural resources on land and sea sustainably which also supports the community economy.

National Program Initiative

At the national level, Konservasi Indonesia works closely with the Indonesian Government and other partners and has launched various program initiatives.
